All right, I know that in recent weeks, I’ve been encouraging you to spend your money more than I usually do, but the holidays are coming.

And I love these bags from Forestbound.  They seem like just the thing to take to the barn, wear with your jeans or breeches, use to hold your grooming gear, or take to horse shows.

Each bag is one-of-a-kind, and incorporates recycled vintage fabrics from New England.  Utilitarian and green retro chic at its best.

How about this WWII era canvas and leather tote bag?

16" x 13" x 4.5" - $92

Or this one, with braided leather handles:

18" x 13" x 5.5" - $188

Or the Ashcroft leather carryall, made to order in black or brown leather, with or without buckle closures.  It comes with its own hand-stamped, numbered brass key fob which attaches to the interior of the bag with a D-ring (see, I told you these bags were for horse people):

19" x 12" x 6" - $280

Here’s one that incorporates an old feed sack:

17" x 13" 4.5" - $85

These bags have the wonderful patina of well-made things from long ago, and are a refreshing change from commonplace conglomerate ditto fashion.  How fantastic it is to find signature pieces that can make your barnwear look stylish.

Designer Alice Saunders promises to be adding new bags online every week, and a variety of specials and sales, including a $50 tote bag sale at the end of the month.
